Project Summary: More an more home renovations and additions are now accompanied with landscape improvements. Retaining walls have become the mainstream means for increasing usable land and creating outdoor living spaces. This wall is the first step in potentially several landscape improvements to this property. As with all of our installations, durability and longevity are key components. Wall base excavation revealed poor soil condition due to the previous excavation for the foundation. Therefore, it was necessary to excavate to the foundation footing to reach a suitable sub-base for proper construction of this wall. Unsuitable sub-base could result in premature settling and possible failure of the wall.
