Project Summary: Without a doubt, the most challenging waterfront retaining wall yet. When it rains, it pours. And pour it did. As one of the rainiest falls on record, high water, flooded trench, muddy conditions that turned to frost, that again turned to mud, before turning to frost for good, this job was one hurdle after another. Before all that rain even came, the job took an immediate turn for the worst, when initial excavation unearthed a failed 6' tall concrete wall from 1975. After the wall fell into the lake on that spring day, a timber wall was constructed in front of it. In order to comply with State of NH waterfront construction specifications, it was necessary to completely remove the failed wall. However, once it was all said and done, the wall was constructed as designed, and then withstood the spring floods of 2006. Let's hope things get better from here.
